How this calculation works
This page assumes qualifying continuous service and eligibility have already been confirmed. The wage input is an employer-verified basis for the calculation, not automatically the entire salary, take-home pay or a selected part of CTC.
Monthly-rated formula amount = monthly wage basis × 15 / 26 × service years after the stated calendar roundingA worked example
From 1 January 2016 to 2 July 2026 is ten completed years plus more than six calendar months. The formula uses eleven years; an entered 26,000 monthly wage basis produces 165,000 before the entered limit.
Good to know
Educational 15/26 monthly-rated scenario only. Assumes confirmed eligibility and qualifying uninterrupted service; not for fixed-term pro-rata, seasonal or piece-rate calculations. Enter verified wage basis and applicable limit. No tax exemption or legal entitlement determination.

Eligibility and the wage basis come before the formula
This page assumes qualifying continuous service and eligibility have already been confirmed. The wage input is an employer-verified basis for the calculation, not automatically the entire salary, take-home pay or a selected part of CTC.
Current labour rules and employment terms determine what belongs in that basis and whether another calculation applies. A fixed-term employee, a seasonal worker or a piece-rated worker must not assume this monthly-rated scenario reproduces their entitlement.
The date difference calculator can check an elapsed calendar interval. Continuous qualifying employment and the gratuity formula’s anniversary rounding require their own payroll and legal assumptions; a calendar interval alone does not establish eligibility.
Calendar months are not a fixed number of days
The tool counts completed calendar-year anniversaries, then checks whether the remainder is strictly more than six calendar months. Exactly six months does not round upward in this scenario. February anniversary dates are clamped to the last day of their target month.
Service is measured as elapsed time from the start date to the entered end date. The end date is not silently increased by a day. If the employment record uses another endpoint convention or excludes a service interruption, confirm the appropriate dates before entering them.

An entered limit is not a statutory determination
The limit field caps this formula scenario at the amount you provide. It does not decide whether a statutory ceiling, better contractual benefit, notification or exemption applies to your case. The default is illustrative and must be verified.
Tax treatment is a separate question from gross gratuity. This page neither calculates tax exemption nor advises a claim. Compare the service record and payroll basis with your employer and current official labour guidance before relying on a payment amount.
Work through the example
From 1 January 2016 to 2 July 2026 is ten completed years plus more than six calendar months. The formula uses eleven years; an entered 26,000 monthly wage basis produces 165,000 before the entered limit.
Use the worked table to trace where each input enters. Then change one assumption and calculate again, leaving the others fixed. A comparison is easier to interpret when the change has one identifiable cause rather than a different set of measurements, dates and rates all at once.
What this model does not establish
Educational 15/26 monthly-rated scenario only. Assumes confirmed eligibility and qualifying uninterrupted service; not for fixed-term pro-rata, seasonal or piece-rate calculations. Enter verified wage basis and applicable limit. No tax exemption or legal entitlement determination.
Keep the input assumptions with any exported result. Illustrative values do not become observations merely because the output is precise. For a real purchase, financial reconciliation or technical decision, check the underlying records and applicable requirements before treating this scenario as a final answer.
