How this calculation works
This models a single flat commission percentage. Tiered rates, targets, clawbacks and tax deductions are outside the calculation.
Commission = eligible sales × rate ÷ 100A worked example
5% commission on ₹50,000 eligible sales is ₹2,500.
Good to know
Uses the stated formula and assumptions. Displayed decimal values are rounded; use consistent units for all inputs.
The percentage applies only to the eligible base
A 5% commission on ₹50,000 is ₹2,500. But the word “sales” can mean booked orders, invoiced revenue, collected payments or revenue after returns. Choosing a different eligible base changes the result even when the percentage stays the same.
Check which definition the agreement uses. This tool deliberately labels the amount “eligible sales” rather than deciding that every reported sale qualifies for a commission.
Tiered agreements need more than one multiplication
A plan may pay one rate below a threshold and another above it, or apply a higher rate retroactively to the entire period. Those designs produce different totals and cannot be represented by an unexplained single percentage.
This tool models one flat rate with no thresholds, clawbacks, guarantees or withholding. For a tiered plan, calculate the eligible amount in each band using the agreement’s precise rules.
A few questions, answered
Does it include bonuses or a base salary?
No. It returns the commission on the entered sales base at one flat percentage.
Can I enter a zero commission rate?
Yes. The commission will be zero regardless of the eligible sales amount.
