How this calculation works
Uses a constant paid schedule. Overtime, unpaid leave, bonuses and deductions are not included unless represented in your inputs.
Annual gross pay = hourly pay × hours/week × paid weeksA worked example
₹500 per hour, 40 hours per week and 52 paid weeks gives ₹10,40,000 annual gross pay.
Good to know
Uses the stated formula and assumptions. Displayed decimal values are rounded; use consistent units for all inputs.
A schedule is part of the pay figure
An hourly rate alone cannot determine annual pay. The number of paid hours each week and paid weeks each year supply the missing information. Forty hours across 52 paid weeks is 2,080 paid hours, while 48 paid weeks is 1,920.
At the same hourly rate, that difference changes the annual gross amount. Use paid time rather than assuming every week is paid. The editable week count lets you represent unpaid time explicitly.
Gross pay is not take-home pay
The output is before deductions and does not include a country-specific tax calculation. Overtime rates, allowances, bonuses, paid leave arrangements and employer contributions may also change an actual compensation package.
If hours vary from week to week, use a clearly justified average or calculate representative periods separately. A regular-schedule estimate should not be presented as a guaranteed annual income for irregular work.
A few questions, answered
Why is the default 52 weeks?
It is an editable scheduling assumption, not a promise that every worker is paid for all 52 weeks.
Does the tool include overtime premiums?
No. It applies the same hourly rate to every entered paid hour.
