How this calculation works
Both units are mapped to a shared base unit using fixed conversion factors. US and imperial volume units are distinct; area factors are squared length factors.
Converted value = value × source factor ÷ destination factorA worked example
1 hours = approximately 60 minutes.
Good to know
Uses fixed duration units only. Months and calendar years have varying lengths and are intentionally excluded.

A duration is not the same as a calendar interval
A duration of 48 hours is exactly two 24-hour days under this fixed-unit model. But two local calendar dates can be separated by a daylight-saving clock change, so an elapsed clock duration and a count of calendar days may differ.
This tool deliberately uses fixed seconds, minutes, hours, 24-hour days and seven-day weeks. It does not attach the duration to a local time zone or a start date.
Months and years cannot be added as one universal factor
Calendar months have different lengths, and a Gregorian year can contain 365 or 366 days. A unit list pretending every month has exactly 30 days would silently impose an approximation.
For dates, use the date-difference or add-days tools, which follow their stated calendar rules. For a financial contract, use its actual day-count convention rather than assuming a generic duration conversion supplies it.
A few questions, answered
Does a day mean 24 hours here?
Yes. It is a fixed duration unit in this converter.
Can I convert months to seconds?
Not without defining the dates or a deliberate average-month approximation. Months are therefore excluded.
