Understanding Weighted Grades and GPA
The Grade Calculator uses a weighted system, which means it considers the **importance** (or weight) of each item you enter. In academic terms, this weight is usually the **Credit Hour** assigned to a course. A 4-credit course affects your GPA more than a 2-credit course. This tool is versatile and can also be used to calculate the overall grade for a single course where weights represent percentages (e.g., Exam = $40\%$, Homework = $20\%$).
