Build the foundations before adding complexity

Fractions, proportions and equations provide the language used in later mathematics. A worked numerical example can help you recognize a pattern, but explain why each operation is valid as well as checking the final answer. Units and domains belong in that explanation.

For younger learners, begin with the middle-school directory. For functions, trigonometry and introductory calculus, use the higher-school directory. More advanced tools also appear below so that a topic can lead naturally into its next step.

Connect algebra with a picture

A graph makes slopes, intersections and transformations easier to inspect. It still depends on a finite window and a finite collection of samples. A curve can have an unseen pole or a feature too small for the chosen scale.

Use a symbolic expression, a numerical example and a diagram as complementary checks. The best explanation states where a method applies and why a surprising case needs more analysis, rather than treating every calculator output as a proof.

Follow the task rather than a grade label

Curriculum boundaries differ between countries and courses. The directories provide practical starting points, not a guarantee that a topic belongs in a particular examination syllabus. Use the descriptions to match a tool to the problem you actually have.

The filter searches names and descriptions. On an individual page, related examples and links inside the explanation connect the task to nearby concepts without requiring you to return to this directory each time.
